A 6-week (twice a week) camp geared for our T.OTs who have started laying down the foundations for handwriting, and are ready to explore all there is to launch into the next steps of their academic journey! This course builds upon the foundations by focusing on academic based fine motor/visual motor skills like: - Lowercase Letter Formation - Strengthening Muscles for a More Refined Pencil Grasp - Improving Scissor Skills Accuracy - Writing Simple Sentences "Properly" * Casing * Spacing Between Words * Anchoring letters on the line * Ending punctuations - More Complex Multi-Step Crafts Every session begins with a sensorimotor obstacle course to assist with regulation and strengthening! WHO: Appropriate for children (4.5 to 7.5 years old) who are in school. - 2 Adults to 7 T.OTs per group. - Each group is run by a licensed/registered pediatric occupational therapist. WHAT: The next step in handwriting development (e.g. lowercase letters, sizing, and sentence writing) using the Handwriting Without Tear's curriculum workbook. WHEN: 6/13/23 to 7/27/23 (Tuesdays and Thursdays) || 1:15-2:30 PM ** NO SESSIONS during Fourth of July week! Mandatory non-refundable $15 materials fee. IMPORTANT-- PLEASE READ: A mandatory 15 minute screener will be held prior to the start of the camp for $15. If the child is determined to be a good fit for the program, the money will be applied to the remaining cost of the program. If it is determined that this program may not be the right fit, and if no other programs available are appropriate at this time, then the $15 will be applied towards the individual consultation that will be provided after the screener for tips and strategies to work on at home.
