Service Description
A 12-week (60 Minutes, once per Wednesday) camp geared for our 7.5 to 12 year old RETURNING campers who have learned or are ready to learn CURSIVE with me! * Kiddos who have learned cursive elsewhere or are in the beginning stages of cursive may join, but must attend a 30 minute mandatory screener with me ($55). WHO: Appropriate for Children (7.5 to 12 years old) who are in school / homeschooled. - Ratio: 1 Adult to 4 Students (Max: 12 Students) - Each group is run by a licensed/registered pediatric occupational therapist. WHAT: A hybrid of using the Handwriting Without Tears Cursive book along with the curriculum created by Ms. Jennell (@ot.umma) to target identified areas such as: - Cursive Uppercase and Lowercase Letter Formation - Sentence Pragmatics (e.g. spacing in between letters, spacing between words in a sentence, letter placement on wide-ruled, college-ruled paper, or adapted paper) - Reading Comprehension (e.g. highlighting text and using information to write) - Critical Writing - Intro to Essay Writing on BULLYING & SOCIAL MEDIA - Peer-Editing Abilities Prerequisite: Children must have had exposure/learned lowercase cursive writing. Please check out my Orion 1.0. WHEN: Wednesday (9/25/24 - 12/18/24) || 4:30 to 5:30 PM **NO SESSIONS: No Camps during Thanksgiving Break (11/24/24 - 12/1/24). WHERE: New Office: 14471 Chambers Rd. #100, Tustin, CA WHY: To set each child up for success by re-establishing strong foundations as they blast off into their academic journey! This course is an intensive camp utilizing occupational therapy-based interventions to: - Identify problem areas in writing - Analyze intrinsic muscle strength/functioning via grasp - Strategically target identified problem areas in a methodical fashion to improve overall legibility - Offer recommendations on accommodations (e.g. adapted pencils) as needed Every activity is taught with a focus on a multi-sensory approach to learning! Rate: $150 at Registration, $47.50 per hour/class. IMPORTANT: - Mandatory $30 materials fee. - Ms. Jennell is an occupational therapist, but is not operating as any camper's private OT. - During emergent circumstances (e.g. natural disasters, illness/quarantine), classes may be held online. Cancellation Policy
T.OT Camp bookings can be cancelled up until 9/1/24. Starting 9/1/24, camp deposit will be forfeited or can be applied to a future session/camp depending on the reason. For individual sessions, cancellations must be made with at least 24 hours notice. If less than 24 hours, the $150 deposit paid will be forfeited. IMPORTANT: 1) Jennell Chang is a licensed/registered occupational therapist bringing OT strategies to all. She is not operating as anyone's private OT. 2. If emergent situations were to arise (e.g. natural disasters, Ms. Jennell falling ill/quarantining), distance learning (online classes) will be held. By continuing, you are agreeing to these terms.
